Kettle bells are not overrated. I dont know where the fuck you heard that.
Fedor, Kharitonov, Aleks ALL are who they are because of kettle bells.
US ARMY even adopted kettle bell work outs from the Russian Army Regiment because they had a competition obstacle course and the Russians completely blew out the US Soldiers.
The only difference in the Russians work out routine was that they used kettlebells. Ever since then the US army has adopted kettle bells too.
Kettle bells are NOT overrated. They give you amazing functional and core strength.

Also everyone in the Russian Army has to be able to do a muscle up, and officer's muscle up and a routine called "the chair"
All of these workouts give you the shoulders you see on Fedor.

I read somewhere they are over-rated --- and more for isolation exercises.
I don't think kettlebell execises compare in any way to basic powerlifting techniques with a bar - like military presses, squats, all that olympic stuff.
There are kettlebells in my gym ... for light weights and general exercise, yeah, but for real strength and power no.
Sure Fedor and Aleks use them, and many MMA schools.
I personally don't like em at all ,,,, I prefer free weights, bars and dumbells.

You got your facts wrong my friend. Kettle bells make you use your whole body as opposed to regular bar and dumbell weights which isolate.
Kettle bells are ideal for kinetic linking. Fedor explosiveness when he throws that lead left hook is due to his kettle bell training.

The sledge hammer improves punching power too but mostly it used to strengthen the muscles of the back.
The sledge hamme is better for judo and sambo throws from the hip. Hence when you see someone hitting the tire, they're hips and legs are what generate all of the power which exactly what you use when throwing someone.

if i ever touch a kettlebell it'll be in the year 2010 at the EARLIEST. fuck that noise. THE D isn't checkin for a kettlebell we style with them HAMMERS round chea son.
is there anything to that shit about you having to keep the sledgehammer from springing up and hitting you in the fucking face after hitting the tire? like is there some kind of trick you have to do with your back and arms after contact to keep the shit from hitting your face? or is that tire not really all that bouncy and it more or less deadens when it strikes it, due to there not being any air in it? cus the kid boogie would split his own wig with that exercise if he performed it tomorrow. i only have a 4-pack right now and the abs aren't strong enough to keep a propelled sledgehammer from killing me. yeah sorry team shocker, i know you picture me with the entire 10 pack when double-clicking it on those lonely nights, but i'm getting there. 8.8% BF post workout today, nigga! down from like 31 a year and some change ago

Shut up you little fucking kid. Do some research dumbass. This wasnt an olympic competition.
It was a special forces/ swat obstacle course competition between Russia and US. In which US fucking got owned and adopted KB techniques into their army.
