Default Cardio?

How much cardio are you guys doing?

I ride stationary bike for an hour every other day -- HR is at about 140 average. I do about 23kms (15 miles) in that hour.

I go to the gym seven days a week, just do cardio only every other day.

3 days a week -

2 days I do intense cardio , HITT is the fancy name, all it is is running at 90% capacity for a minute, then slowing down for a minute, then running all out, etc

Very short , just 10 minutes, but excellent results.

1 day normal cardio on treadmill ,,, 20 minutes -

Always best to run, not bicycle - just doesn't give you the same result.

Always good to stretch and warm-up a few minutes before you start - by changing speeds, it keeps your body guessing, and you burn fat like water and, weirdly enough, even helps in adding muscle - you'll feel like a revved engine all day, actually feel like your burning energy from an internal furnace.

Of course, this goes well with strength/weight training - leaving you lean, strong, and muscular.

I run quite a bit too but my one knee is pretty bad from grappling so I lean towards biking cause its easier on it. That and I also do 60 minutes -- my heart is high and I am sweating like a pig at the end of it.

What's your diet like ?

You need a good healthy diet to support your joints/knees, lots of fresh vegetables, poulty, meat, rice etc

Not eating right can make it easier to injure your knee, not enough rest, not stretching.

Have you ever done lower body strength conditioning , like squats ?

I think it might be hard to do now if you injured your knee, but strengthening teh muscles and ligaments around the joint usually help against injury.

That's what I see, those that do less weight lifting get injured more ,,

My diet consists of: chicken breast, salmon, buffalo, oatmeal, brown rice, baby potatoes, almonds, cottage cheese, blueberries, leafy greens, green beans, broccoli...

I eat really, really well Sheik. I do quite a bit to strengthen the area around my knee but its shot.

Great diet, what about essential fats ?

I know Salmon has Omega-3, but nuts are a good idea to add.

I love shopping at Whole Foods Market, that's my kind of place !

I hate running, so I only jog for like 35 minutes.

10 minutes a slow jog, 5 minutes I do a fast run, 10 minute jog, 5 minute fast run. then I keep a steady jog for the last 5. Sometimes go longer minutes and push myself at a sprint until I have to stop and get off the treadmill.
