If the average person that eats 200 unnecessary calories puts on 15lbs a year, that means you've managed to eat an extra 950 calories ONTOP of the required amount with a lot of physical activity. That's roughly 6000 calories (if my math is right). You're not active so...

actually about 2 years, and to tell you the truth besides sheer laziness and for the first year and half eating whatever whenever had alot to do with it.
before i lost my job i walked around at 220-240 and carried my weight very good. i was happy with the way i looked, didnt feel weird taking my shirt off at the pool, etc.
it wasnt until about 6months ago that i actualy realized how fat ive gotten and felt my fitness level diminished and realized i desperately need to do something about it.
right now the walks make my ankles and shins sore the next day, my lower back is in pain, etc. (just stuff i need to push through, cause the pain is my bodies way of telling me ive done something) and that feels good. i know its going to be hard at first and i know will get better.
what is "HIIT program"?
that sounds like a very forgiving diet you have outlined and looks like something i could easily stick with, i do thank you for help/support.

Here's a good article on HIIT.
H.I.I.T. High Intensity Interval Training – Explained Keith Scott MS, ATC, CSCS
Don't take offence to this... but you have no choice but to listen to the advice. I'm amazed you haven't had any major health problems at this point.
It's not really a diet, just the basics of what you NEED in your system to get to where you want to be.
With weight loss, there's no secret. Burn more calories than you consume and you'll lose weight. That food plan gives you all you need to make that happen.

I should also add, that at this stage... HIIT isn't for you. People with average fitness levels are on the floor barfing after 10 or 15 minutes of HIIT. At this point, it'd cause more harm than good.

Another thing to do Jblade is try to add up how many calories you have ate perday.
Then take 1,000 calories off of that. Then make sure you at least burn 500 calories per workout. That would easily be 3 lbs per week.
But being your size, it sounds like you might be able to subtract more calories than that.
Just remember 3,500 calories= 1lbs

I kinda saved him having to go through all that by setting up that meal plan. It's the lowest number of calories you can take in, and still get the all the essentials. So it should be a big drop compared to what he has been eating.

The only reason I mentioned that. Is because some people don't always like following an exact meal plan. But, then again depends how serious that person is.

No, I understand your point and all. Sometimes seeing the numbers infront of you can be a huge motivation. It's just that in the OP's case, he doesn't have a choice. It's either eat healthy, or slowly but surley create a ton of life long health issues.

i just know that my way hasnt worked for me, (for at least 2 years now) and having someone else present a new way will definately put me on the right track.
i have started eternal's meal plan quite yet, sort of adapting or incorperating it to take the place of (not so healthy meals) or my stomach's need for another bowl of oatmeal, or that extra banana.

I understand you are a big guy, and even for little guys. Extreme cardio doesn't have to be performed to keep your body and mind healthy.
Just walking 30 minutes plus will be just fine.

I hated cardio at first too. I used to get my wifey to drive me out, and drop me off with no phone or money so I'd be forced to jog home.
