is it just me,? or do the cage sizes differ from promotion to promtion?

I would imagine they vary from promotion to promotion - boxing rings can vary as well. I've seen a few boxing title fights in Europe on the t.v. where the ring size is definately smaller than what we're used to seeing here.

Now that I think about it - they HAVE to change size from promotion to promotion, if for no other reason than because having the total floorspace the same would be pretty damn near to impossible to do - hexagon vs. octagon vs. circular...

my first octagon was 25 by 25 then 20 by 20. UFC is 30 by 30 currently law wants them no less than 20 by 20.

the WEC cage looks smaller than the UFC cage....could be wrong about that. I've seen a couple different sizes at shows, just judging by eye.

I fought at a little bar out here in NM and the cage was probably like 15x15 or less. I could have put my back against the cage and hit the guy across the ring with a kick. It was one of my favorite fights though because it started to rain and the promoter let everyone crowd around the cage to get out of the rain so it was straight out of a movie with the crowd clinging to the fences on the outside. Insanity. Anyone know how to transfer VHS to mpeg? I actually have a copy of that fight and Darrill Schoonover who will be on the next TUF is on that tape, too.
