Overhand Right
Being a shorter guy, I'm only around 5'5 and weigh 160, I like to throw the over hand right a lot. Now,It's one of these punches I throw on it's on,But now of course my training partners know it's coming. So I was thinking about some combo's that I could end with the overhand right.Just looking for some opinion's or suggestions.
Left hook to the body,Overhand- I've tried this before,Seems to be somewhat successful,Sometimes I'm too close to get the full swing in though.
Jab to the gut,Overhand -Same problem as above,And sometimes I go down too low with this and am at a serious risk of getting Muay Thai Clinched.
Straight Right,Left Uppercut,Overhand- This one, I've only tried on pads and stuff,I've never tried it in a sparring session yet.
So yeah,I'd like some feedback and suggestions

Reverse this one. If they know the overhand right is coming, feint with it and throw the left hook to the body/liver. Instead of trying to set up what they know is coming, use what they know is coming to set something else up. If you do it a couple of times, they will lay off of the feint and you can whack 'em with that too.
It worked for Bas.

Start off with a couple left jabs, than throw your right overhand as hard as humanly possible. Thats the best way Pitbull. Knock those cocky tall fuckers out.

If you're throwing the jab before your overhand, I highly recommend throwing more than one, and don't be fucking lazy with them. Jabs are awesome and can set the pace of a fight.

A very underutlilized weapon IMO, especially in traditional boxing.

What I like to do is just take em on the chin until they close enough then plow them with a right hook.
But if u have to, use a left liver kick and follow it up with a straight right, one of the 2 is gonna land for sure.

best bet is to throw a lead inside leg kick straight into the overhand right, especially against a taller opponent

This is an awesome thread. Good humor in here. Smoker giving niggas advice on fighting. LOL GOod times, its a party.
Sin had the best explanation. If you throw your jab too much you can catch a counter hook right to the temple/eye area. Iv learned the hard way.
The goal is not attack in a straight line. Turn your opponent around, side step and like Sin said MOST IMPORTANTLY fake and FEINT. You gotta sell it. Dont try to set up what ur opponents knows is coming, feint with it and hit them with left. Thats when your jab comes in.
Snap it out like you're drying your hand, and make sure it comes back to block just as fast as it goes out there. Double up with that shit as you move forward. From there spinning back fists are VERY unpredictable. Left hook goes good after a left jab or two especially if your actually stepping in properly. All of that can open up an over hand right for you depending on how your sparring partner reacts.
Good luck man.
