Tapping out to a headlock that's really tight
There's no shame in that--it can really hurt and put a lot of pressure on you. Plus that's how you get cauliflower ears.

Some guys say I shouldn't--that I just need to relax and breathe. How are they supposed to know how tight it is? And Safety comes first when you're practicing, right?

Well there are some things I've read on-line that make it sound like that's a real possibility. Why these guys want to push me beyond my limits is, well, beyond me.

cauliflower ear is more from rubbing your ear on the matt and against your opponent, headlocks pretty much have nothing to do with them, hehe
Anyways yea u tapped to a can opener you're a fuckin pussy.

Thanks buddy, don't ever change. If not for your moxie and natural manliness other men would not have access to the measure of manhood to aspire to. I am sure all your Cameldog comrades feel the same way I do. Congratulations on your special day. I couldn't break hearts without you buddy. You put the HB in the HBK. I am just a heart break kid... you are the heart break man!

I love you Fully... but if you are worried about cauliflower ear you are in the wrong sport. But don't worry, you don't 'get' cauliflower ears you have to earn them. Also, if you are getting your ass kicked like that hit up THE OMEN and ask where he takes kid's classes at, you may be at the wrong dojo for your skill level...

Perhaps you should take up pillow fighting. If you can't take a little pain and discomfort then you have no business grappling.

It's obvious that Niven trains and knows a lot about MMA.

I hate working with kids, but I do wish there were more people at my skill level, though. I guess I just have to work up to their level.

That's one interpretation. But my take is that I am acknowledging the pain appropriately for MMA training. Now when and if I ever spar or have real cage fights then I figure my adrenaline will block out the pain and I'll be able to push beyond my current limits.

I wear headgear already, but that's not 100% effective and it doesn't stop the rest of your head from hurting.

Damn you fullerene! HAHA
It does 100% protect your ears from cauliflower if you use them all the time
If it hurts your head that much. You should give up grappling
