I wasn't particularly good though. Never had good stamina. I could have remedied that though. I don't think the wrestling has helped my jits much. My bjj school would seldom bother with take downs. We mainly started from kneeling. I like bjj a lot more than I ever liked wrestling.

I'm starting to miss it because I haven't been to bjj class in almost two months for financial reasons. I have every intention of getting back into it though. But I will have to find a new school and none are in my budget right now. I had a change of jobs and my income decreased a bit and I had to relocate too(for the new job itself, and for cheaper housing). I felt like I was making decent progress in the seven months that I put into it. Hopefully I'm not throwing that away by being out of practice.

I don't know anything about his school, but if it's good and you can afford it, then definitely go for it.

send some emails to places, some guys are real cool, if you tell them your financial situation and shit some will make payment plans, or even be cool enough to offer you training if you clean the gym once a week or something

Thanks for the suggestion, but I highly doubt that would work. They'd probably tell me to go to hell. Besides, I'd feel like I was being a charity case. I may just try to find a few guys to roll with and we'll practice together. Then maybe we can enter some tournaments to see how we're doing. lol, and we probably wouldn't be doing very well.

i did that for one of my grappling tournaments when i couldn't pay for training at the time, worked out well, you just gotta find some people that are on your level or better...but if you plan on asking some of these guys tell them that you have prior training and shit, and that you've just hit a bump for the time being, and as soon as you can pay them you will

i agree, the instructors are very, very good and technical. 250 is just a LOT of money. the problem is there are not really many alternatives...you'd think there'd be a shit load of great mma schools around the NY area, but there aren't. there are great BJJ instructors, but nothing like an ATT or extreme couture around here yet. i want to train at a gym like yours
