From all the commotion on the Dog, it's like JT was robbed or something, but since I know there's alot of Kimbo haters on the Dog, I take that with a grain of salt.

Did JT slap the ref ?

Not so much of a slap as it was a push to the face.




If JT had any skill what so ever the fight would have ended in the second round. He had Kimbo flat on his back, his right arm trapped between JT's legs and was holding Kimbos left arm (crucifix position). He was just pitter patting short little punches and forearms to Kimbo's unprotected face. At one point he put a little more effort into the strikes and Kimbo grimaced, JT seemed startled by it, hesitated for a second and then went back to the love taps. Either JT really has no MMA skills or he was paid to lose. And I'm not one to say every poor performance is a work.




Kimbo landed some impressive punches but somehow JT manged to stay standing even though he was out on his feet.

From those GIFs looks like an interesting fight !

Heard the Carano and Smith/Lawler fight were the best in terms of action !

I thought Kimbo was a hard hitter though, either JT upgraded his glass jaw or Kimbo doesn't hit as hard as believed.

The most obvious thing I notice is Kimbo is not fast, he's quite slow in his punches.

Do you think it was a fair stoppage ?

Everyone says it wasn't .... what's the unbiased and next-day consensus ?

Oh, and everyone was talking about James cauli ears ... was it that bad ?

If you were in the audience and didn't have the benefit of being able to see JT's eyes after those punches landed you could say it was an early stoppage but having a closeup of his face showed he was pretty much out on his feet. When it happened at first I thought it might have been slightly premature but after seeing the closeup of him against the fence I can't argue with the call. It looked like he was no longer able to intelligently defend himself although he was still standing.

It literally looked like there was a golf ball surgically implanted in his ear as he was walking to the ring before the fight. The fluid inside his ear added so much weight it seemed to have a mind of it's own. You can see it flopping around in the gifs I posted.

I don't think it was a fair stoppage. JT had Kimbo in an on-top crucifix against the cage for a whole minute, pounding on him, and the ref didn't stop it. But when Kimbo burst JT's ridiculous cauli, the fight was stopped shortly after. Saying that though, JT did look a bit 'rocked' at the time of the stoppage, but no more 'rocked' than he had been previously in the fight IMO. But, it's all subjective, so who knows?

JT's cauli was seriously fucking ridiculous. Before the fight it looked like something had kidnapped his ear and painted 'please hit me' on it. It didn't look like it was calcified either, so two minutes with a hypodermic before the fight would have done it a world of good. Why they didn't attempt to drain it before the fight, I have no fucking idea. It was asking for trouble right from the start.

JT was funny in the post fight interview, though. He is a good guy.
