Some fighters do it, like Diego and others. I want to know does anyone one here meditate, did you ever? Id like to know your experiences with it, success and failures.

I meditate. I have since i was a kid. My mom use to buy these meditation tapes. This calm voice would talk you through it. Laying on a cloud....Take a deep breath, count backwards from ten to one and release a lil each time. With each release feel all your stress and worries being pushed out through your fingers and toes. (i do this still) the next part was for kids, the cloud would take you on a tour of your favorite places, beach, talking to animals and shit like that. But it would put me to sleep and i would have vivid dreams and be well rested.
I now use meditation to get to sleep (i have problems with that), to calm down after work and just to relax. It's good. I like it.
I guess you could also say that my 420 sessions are a form of meditation, because i smoke, sit back and relax, and let my thoughts take over and kinda lay out my life goals and release them into my subconscious (make sence?)

I used to meditate rigorously, now I don't do it at all. If I feel tense or muscle tension or if I'm tired but can't take a nap, I'll lie down completely flat for about 5-10 minutes and it usually restores enough energy for about another hour of work or heavy concentration.
But meditation probably did help me to gain control over my emotions early in life. With the volume of my emotions turned down to about a 1 I find I never really get that tense or need mediation.

I used to be into all that new age shit for a long time. Now I think most of it is pretty silly although I still read tons of stuff about it. Some of my friends are so ridiculous with that shit I can't even take it seriously anymore. (slaps forehead) It is especially funny how many atheists buy into that shit while thinking religion is a gimmick.

Yeah I agree New Age is def some faggot shit and a con like crystals or Yeti's or Jesus but sitting quiet and not thinking in a comfortable position with my eyes closed has served me well. Hard to argue with results.

Yes. I think it definitely helps stress, peace of mind, sense of well being, probably even blood pressure. I am talking about the guys who stick crystals up their asses and spend 100 dollars a week getting their chakras readjusted.

Since you mention Jesus...
It is interesting you bring him up as a con. I am not sure which understanding or definition of Jesus you are calling a con so I can't really address your comment completely, but I think people who believe in Jesus reap no less of the benefits than you can get from meditation. A sense of well being, a moral guidance, a peaceful feeling. There are many pragmatic applications of Christianity outside the mystical beliefs that can't really be argued against as worthless.

Uhm yeah but I don't feel guilty when I masterbate.
All that "good" stuff that Jesus gives you, comes along with the price tag of guilt and shame.

As a general rule, however, the things that we feel guilt and shame for (if you actually go not by what organized religion teaches, but what the text itself says), are things that as human beings we really SHOULD feel guilt and shame for.
Don't let the way christianity has been formalized cloud what it actually should be, and was intended to be.

I don't see that, at all. Read through Leviticus sometime. Even out of the ten commandments 2 are complete bullshit.
1. Thou shalt worship no gods before me.
2. keep the sabbath holy
3. don't take the lord's name in vein.
4.don't covet thy neighbor's ect ect
bunch of petty religious posturing and thought crime. And the rest of the rules get weirder and less relevant.

And if you go to the new testament (which, in theory Christianity is based upon), Jesus specifically states that there are actually only 2 laws - love God with all you are, and Love everybody else, too (not all that easy to do, but a lot easier to understand). It is implied that the previous laws were being overrulled at this point.
