Overeem did not knock Bonjasky down, although he did sweep his legs and throw him a lot.
The knock down in round three was the only time one of the fighters appeared hurt, and the only legitimate knock down.
Overeem also fought a dirty fight, look at how many times the ref had to tell him no holding, the fucking guy is tossing Bonjasky around like it's a san shou match.
I would have liked to see more rounds, but Bonjasky won fairly squarely. It was an ugly fight.

It damn sure was an ugly fight and Red Devil is right, Bonjasky is a frustrating nightmare.
I just read on the dutch site "fighttalk" that Bonjasky had a meniscus injury.

Overeem Did knock Bonjasky down with a good right hand in the second (after rewatching the fight, I realized it was in the second, not the first) and it was ruled a slip. That was complete and utter bull shit.
Overeem also dropped him in the third with a leg kick. It was not a fucking sweep!
After rewatching the fight, I am more convinced than EVER that the screw was in before Overeem even stepped in the ring.

you're not doing yourself any favors when you fight like a thug like that. they wanted badr to fucking win the GP but he fought like a thug and lost because of it. no way was that overeem's win. that was a draw at WORST. 5 fuckin takedowns > whatever questionable-ass-fuckin KD/slip he may have scored.

Looks arguable to me. The punch landed before the kick landed, which makes it look like the punch only knocked him off balance and did no damage. The fact Remy gets up faster than after some of those tosses only strengthens that argument for me.

The fact that he got right back up makes it a Flash knock down. K1 rules account for flash KD's. If it is a definite bomb that laid you out, the round would be scored 10-8. If it is just a flash knock down that you hop right back up from, it can be scored a 10-9 still. This should have been ruled a knock down.
Corrupt K1 judges and ref didn't want their GP world champ to get beat by a guy with Two fucking K1 fights. It would be embarrassing for their organization.

as glad as i am that overoids lost, i was thoroughly impressed. either that or remy just sucked. he did well enough to reiterate that the top shelf MMA strikers are K-1 level. and in some cases probably above. MASATO would eat stupid BJ Penn alive though.
