After I beat Diego, I feel like I’ve fought the toughest competition in the lightweight division in the two and a half years I’ve been with the UFC. People see my record, and 5-3 is nothing great. But people who have seen my losses know that every time I fight, I put on a show. I’ve lost a few close ones. Roger got the best of me, in a fight that he deserves. That was a turning point in my career. They guaranteed Diego a title shot if he beats me, but he’s not getting that title shot. I know I’m ready for a title shot. I fight better for better opponents. I’m going to outwork everyone in my division, I’m going to outwork the champion, and one day, I’m going to have that belt around my waist.
-UFC lightweight contender Clay Guida, who is riding the biggest win of his career over surging lightweight Nate Diaz at UFC 94 ‘St. Pierre vs. Penn 2′ back on January 31, looks to derail the guaranteed title shot of another TUF star in Diego Sanchez when they clash in the main event of The Ultimate Fighter 9 finale on June 20. If anyone wants to play fantasy matchmaker, we could be looking at the winner of Guida vs. Sanchez meeting the winner of Penn vs. Florian by year’s end…

It doesn't matter if he's a layer-and-prayer. If he beats Diaz, he gets a title shot. If he beats Penn or Florian (whoever wins that fight basically... I'm betting on Penn) if he beats Penn then he deserves the title that he wins.

LOL the guys last two fights haven't been THAT exciting, are we forgetting the Huerta fight? the Griffin fight? the fight with Din?? jeez, the guy is scrappy as fuck and arguably has had the toughest competition ever for someone who wasn't established or on TUF

I don't care for Clay, but he does put on pretty exciting fights more than he does shitty ones.

I dont want to see Clay Guida fight.
he is the human seat belt. he grabs guys around the waist and stalls standing or against the cage untill the ref is gonna break em up then he takes em down and lays on them till the ref stands it up.
rinse repeat for 3 rounds.

he had all those FOTN's cause of the other guys
they didnt want to get taken down or stay taken down so they would do whatever they could to stay standing or have clay on his back if it wasnt for those dudes and there take down defense or scrambling abilities those wouldnt have been FOTN's
