This is an interview with Helio from eleven years ago, and it includes some pretty good stuff like Helio's thoughts on sex, women in sports, and homosexuals.

This is one of the funniest parts IMO. Don't get offended, he's old school.

(Q)You have nine children, seven boys who are or Jiu-Jitsu teachers or fighters. Do your two daughters fight?
(HG)They know it for personal defense, but they are not teachers because I don’t like athletic women. Women are not athletes, they have another qualities and signs. Being a athlete is something for men, strength is thing for men.

(Q)Isn’t it a prejudice?
(HG)I don’t see it like this.

(Q) Would you teach a homosexual?
(HG)I had a few homosexual students, but all very discreet, homosexual that weren’t shameless (the word is not really shameless, when you say in Brazil that somebody is shameless it can mean or that you a very communicative person, not shy or it means that is somebody with no character, that’s what he meant. Got it?). It’s a disease, a weakness
that I don’t tolerate, but I can’t censure anybody for being weak or having a fault. Some I just found out that they were after. But the ones who were didn’t seem to be. If they did, I would raffle (I have no clue about what he meant with the raffle thing, maybe it is a slang, probably it is).

(Q)Would you dispense him?
(HG)Exactl

(Q)Can a good Jiu-Jitsu fighter make Mike Tyson touch the ground?

(HG)Poor him, he was challenged, but he didn't accepted it.

(Q)What did you think about the last fight among him and Hollyfield?

(HG)About that fight I only say that, for 30 million dollars, what he earned, I would bite anyone's ear and give him ten new ears.
