How to Save the UFC
The ufc is dying. PPV and TV ratings are down. Numerous fighters are coming down with injuries. In-cage styles have been reduced to point-based sparring. For all intensive purposes, the UFC and possibly MMA in general has peaked and is in a decline. I would like to hear some potential solutions from you, the learned, wise, and cordial posters of the Cameldog community.
My solution? Well it is certainly a controversial one. I will start with a question. Why do people watch MMA? People watch MMA to see fights finished. They want to see the fighters determine the outcome of the fights as opposed to the judges. Therefore, my solution is a severe reduction in weight classes within the UFC. All weight classes with the exception of HW and LHW should be moved to the Strikeforce brand. Heavier weight fights are simply more exciting, and have much higher finishing rates. Nobody wants to watch two 110lb mexicans tap each other in the cheek for five rounds. It simply sucks. While it may upset some posters, it is my opinion that the UFC is better off with a mediocre heavyweight fighter, than a top notch bantamweight or flyweight fighter.

stupid. They should keep it the same but promote it more and hype every fight more. They should also have an ULTIMATE 2011/2012/2013/2014/ect........ So its like a superbowl type thing everyone wants to watch and look forward to. ASnd have like 3 titles on the line. That would be great. every fan looks forward to BIG things yearly like that. Its traditiion, and right now the UFC doesn't have that. Also, i believe they should cut a lot of mediocre fighters (which would increase pay to the REAL GREAT fighters$$) and cram shows into just big events. For example. TAKE the johnson vs McCall fight and put it in UFC 148. Also the Guida and Maynard fight throw that into UFC 148. So its more MAJOR TYPE EVENTS. not little scraps of good fights, with the rest being shitty. Its just not exciting.
Thats the reason they are downfalling. ABOVE^^ and if they fix this, it WILL become the biggest sport .... ever. But of course they are to stupid to realize this. TUF show should run year round as well. I like it, they should make it a little longer and show more in HOUSE drama. Not because thats what fighting is about, but thats why the Spike TV broadcast was made so popular. UFC needs to hire me. I have a ton more ideas, i would make you guys bow down to me with the way i could grow the UFC (through ideas)

Not just that, but the bigger the sport grows from my ideas (and many more secret ones i will poetry if they hire me), the more likely better athletes are willing to go to the UFC. From increased pay to a harder challenge, to more mainstream type broadcasting. To Top level fighters not wanting to leave (BJ Penn, due to so much hype around fights. I mean have you ever wanted to watch or do soemthing simply because it was big. Even if you never have done it before? thats exactly why BIG..WORKS... hire me Dana. Ill make the UFC the best ever. In 1 year. 2 years we will own all TV networks. 3 years we will make the NFL look like amateurs. Year 4 we will make the UFC the only known sport around. NFL and NBA will be forgotten. and then we keep going.

Is a nonsensical phrase, and makes me question the intelligence of the person who writes it right off the bat. The actual phrase is "for all intents and purposes". The fact that the rest of your post that followed was rather idiotic helped prove that your initial malapropism was rather foreshadowing.

Well I ain't an English major brah. I do apologize for incorrect usage of the English vernacular. Too bad you didn't decide instead to contribute something constructive to the thread. To think I called for your nomination to VIP/mod status. Perhaps I judged too hastily.

OK, fair enough. I can understand cutting 145 and below, but 155 and up is worth keeping, IMHO. Some of their best fighters are above 145 and below 205. Losing them would be a disservice to the organization. Constructive enough for you?

Agreed. Welterweight and MW seem to put on good contests too. My point is that these ultralightweight divisions are NOT the answer. We want to see big guys pounding the piss out of each other (not in the ass)

Heres a quick solution , why not dissolve the WWE and TNA (And all that crap) into the UFC. fuck I rather watch those huge asses pummel each other with little skill or technique then to see skinny birds dancing.
the one issue is that many of them juice up, so there would have to be a huge detox effort to get them all clean in time.
Triple H would upset CHael.

merge the 125 135 weight class, merge the 145 and 155 weight class, and the 170 and 185 weight class, cut about 50% of the roster (which are cans) and pay the fighters about atleast 10X more, which is isnt much as we've seen wut they are paying... THOUGHTS?
