Default Mac Danzig VS Clay Guida

Nate Diaz and Clay Guida bouts to co-headline UFC Fight Night 15 - MMA - Yahoo! Sports

September’s UFC Fight Night 15 event will feature co-main events with past winners of “The Ultimate Fighter.”

A fight between season-six winner Mac Danzig (18-4-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) and opponent Clay Guida (23-9 MMA, 3-3 UFC) will be followed by the night’s final bout between season-five winner Nate Diaz (9-2 MMA, 4-0 UFC) and Josh Neer (24-6-1 MMA, 3-3 UFC).

The Sept. 17 event takes place at the Omaha Civic Auditorium in Omaha, Neb., and the main card airs on Spike TV. The UFC recently announced the night’s five televised bouts.

Spike TV Vice President David Schwarz today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that rather than a single main event, the two bouts will be billed as co-main events. (Spike TV often features notable “TUF” alumni in UFC Fight Night and The Ultimate Fighter Finale events.)

Much like the other Spike TV events this year, UFC Fight Night 15’s fight card features some solid match-ups. UFC.com recently released the following televised main card (all previously reported here at MMAjunkie.com):

Nate Diaz vs. Josh Neer
Mac Danzig vs. Clay Guida
Houston Alexander vs. Eric Schafer
Alan Belcher vs. Ed Herman
Kyle Bradley vs. Joe Lauzon
UFC Fight Night 15 precedes the debut episode of “The Ultimate Fighter: Team Nogueira vs. Team Mir,” the eighth season of the UFC and Spike TV’s reality series. The upcoming season, which features light heavyweight and lightweight fighters, features UFC interim heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and former champ Frank Mir as coaches.

I like Danzig, but he's a slow starter. I'm afraid Guida is going to give him a beating.

I like the methodical and unemotional way he approaches fighting.

I can also relate to how frustrated and irritated he was with all the douchebags he had to share the house with on TUF (not to mention having to put up with Matt Hughes as a coach).

Guida starts his fights out fast paced and I think it will be overbearing for Danzig. If it goes into mid 2nd rnd. I think Danzig can pull it off.

Can't wait to watch Joe Lauzon win!!!

danzig can only win when he can push the pace, when it's pushed on him he crumbles, for example, danzig vs. mach sakurai pride 33

I have Clay Guida pushing Mac to the limit in round 1, then knocking Mac out in round 2.

Why are they keeping these TUF guys apart? Don't get me wrong Danzig v Guida is a great matchup but from the casual fan/Spike TV viewer perspective Danzig v Diaz would draw way bigger numbers as they'll know both the main eventers well.
