They probably want that for certain LOSING fighters .. like Tim Sylvia.

I'm certain they didn't lose as much as you(or Affliction haters, not saying you're one,) imagine.

You can't, because all this stuff is just rumors on Sherdog and mma blogs.

I have a very business-like mind, so I'm very diligent in asking for every source and scrutinizing it, looking at the whole picture and studying revenue streams, rather than simply reading rumors/gossip which aren't based on reality.

I have a business like mind too, been running my own businesses for almost 7 years! And there is no way they didn't lose a shedload of cash on this first one. I know they didn't expect to break even or close to it but they really didn't do as well as expected. It's all speculation only they know the real figures but it's pretty clear to most that they would have lost money. How much they lost is open to debate but I am betting they can't continue to lose that much each show and if the next one doesn't do better I think they'll probably call it a day after that. Paying Sylvia 4 times what he was getting in the UFC is just not good business however you look at it.

I agree on the Sylvia part, but I think they needed to throw in that figure to lure him away from the UFC and give Fedor a legtimate challenge, same with Arlovski.

Lindland, Rothwell, and a few others I think would have easily accepted lower pay ...
