I watch for good matchups. They don't have to be superstars or even well established. UFC, PRIDE, DREAM, WEC, IFL, EXC just let em fucking fight!

This thread reminds me of Sherdog so much I may as well be there. Besides Mr. Relentless and JarWillie.

Reason: forgot about JarWillie, which is rude.

Sheikh started out on PRIDE so the UFC comes off as inferior to him, while i disagree with some of the points he tries to get across, he presents good ones at times too...
Like i said, i appreciate the sport, in any aspect in any organization, i'll enjoy a good boxing match whether be on HBO, Shotime, ESPN, or even the olympics, when 2 guys come to put on a show, all the bullshit about organizations, promoters, presidents, contracts, and pay, go right out the window

At least Anderson is fighting like 4 times this year. Anderson is the most exciting fighter in the world. But yeh, they keep PRIDE stars who are true fighters on the shelf, while filling cars with TUF rejects. I hate the UFC and only watch it for it's fighters. I would love to see Penn, GSP, Anderson, leave UFC. Than a whole lot of other good fighters would leave aswell

i don't want 5 different organizations, it's already bad enough right now, it's becoming exaclty like boxing...
The truth is there's no way the UFC is going away, they put every other organization down for the count when they bought PRIDE, people can say Affliction is the next big organization but i don't believe that either, the fact that the VP is already hesitant with planning anything says enough.
If the UFC does complete dominate the market, you're going to see a major shift in the sport, with pay, fight cards, everything, it's going to be crazy to see this thread 2 years from now when things will end up being completely different

I would like the UFC, if they didnt prioritize TUF over everything else. I mean first Rampage was on the shelf for TUF, and now NOG?! NOG is in his prime. He wants to fight at least 3 times a year. Not twice.

they're a marketing company, they can't have champions that people don't know or care about, and that's the truth, the UFC is just as much a business as a fight promotion, why do you think all these other companys are tanking, EliteXC most successful shows have been the ones with douchebag kimbo slice on it because he has name and drawing power, every pride show in america and every pride PPV tanked because they didn't market anything. The UFC is the best marketing company in the fight business, no doubt in my mind either
The UFC will get to a point where TUF won't be relevant anymore, but right now, they're marketing their HW champ

So im supposed to be happy? Im not the one benefiting from TUF and their plan to market champs. The hardcore fans suffer from this. So, until the UFC gets to that point that you speak of....FUCK em.

i'm not saying your suppose to be happy, but it's the reason behind it, and the reason the UFC is going to be the one prevailing at the end of all of this...
I enjoy TUF, it's entertaining, i don't like the fact it puts the belt on the shelf for 9 months, but it entertains me, there's some good fights, and some funny moments, so i'm not gonna hate the company for it, they've done too much for this sport to instantly root against them in every single thing that they do..

Luckily for the UFC and MMA in general the casual fans far outweigh the hardcore fans. Be patient, I guess.
Rampage would've been on the shelf rehabbing his hand regardless. Nog? Yeah I guess I wish he wasn't part of the show either.
