don't be fat
I thought I would put some insight on ways not to be fat anymore. So if you are looking for ways to lose some lbs. This is the way to do it.
I know a lot of people complain that they try to lose weight but nothing ever works. They cry and cry, but I don't think they are trying.
The best thing to do is add up how many calories you eat each day. Do this for 3-4 days, and take the average number of calories you eat perday.
After you have this number subtract 500 calories out of your normal calorie intake. I garuntee you, that you will start losing lbs per week.
If you want to take it a little more serious, subtract the 500 calories out of your diet. Buy something that is monitoring how many calories you are burning and go for a run and do other activities that are going to burn calories. Just make sure you are burning at least 500 calories and it is for 30+ minutes.
I hope anyone looking to lose weight can come on here and ask questions and some other fellow Cameldoggers can put their insight to make this thread a place for people to shed a few pounds.

that's really a common sense approach. it's amazing how simple it is, and yet there's so many crazy diets and pills out there.
for me, it's much easier to cut back if i'm eating the right foods: low glycemic carbs like veggies, fruits, and whole grains. balancing every meal with lots of vegetables, a little carbs, some protein and a tiny bit of fat.
eating low glycemic foods helps to prevent those dips, and i notice a decline in appetite, even though i may be working out heavily.

simple substitutions also work: EX. if you want a salty snack, instead of chips, eat 94% fat free popcorn.
if you are a soda fanatic (like me), drink pellegrino or seltzer with lemon.
if you like ice cream, a good substitute is to take some frozen blueberries/strawberries (very low cal, low glycemic fruits), mix with some skim milk and splenda. tastes like berries and cream.
fat free sugar free jello puddings are also very good for peopel with a sweet tooth.
if you like your meat with sauces, a great way to make healthy sauce is to take the juice of vegetables like sweet peppers, and reduce them down to make a thick sauce. delicious.
i find the most effective way to eat healthy is not to eliminate foods, but to substitute healthier foods.

Yeah, its amazing how people will starve themselves. They always see the results on the scale but they just look like a shrunken version of what they have always looked like because of all the muscle loss.
Plus you will start getting headaches, act sluggish, and feel dizzy.
Your best bet is to eat small meals threw out the day. I know I eat 5 small meals everyday and cut myself off from eating at 6.

You should be proud of your brother. I really like hearing stories about that stuff.
But really, who can actually say no to cake?
Did you take any before and after pictures?

About a month and a half ago, I decided that I needed to lose some weight. I was tipping the scales at 210 lbs.
So I've been on a mission to drop down to 170-180 lb range. I started by just eating smaller portions of food every 3 hours.
I lost almost 6 lbs in 2-3 weeks
So then I bought an exercise bike. I go for an hour a day burning anywhere from 600 - 675 calories. My shirt gets completely soaked with sweat when i'm done. I also do a small workout after but nothing too extreme.
3 weeks later I lost another 15 lbs.
Currently I'm weighing in at 188-189 lbs. I've been counting my calories now, trying to keep them under 250 a meal.
I still got another 15 lbs to lose, I'm thinking another 3-4 weeks and I'm there.

It does feel good to be lighter on my feet. It also feels good to see results. I think when i finally reach my desired weight, I'll be sporting a nice 6-pack.

You got that shit right man. I am 6ft and when I was 19 I weighed 235 lbs. Right now I am around 165. I am trying to get back up to 175. I feel awesome, energetic, but I get a little insecure about my muscle size. But fuck it, as long as I am healthy.

I'm 5' 8" and 189 lbs. I've got decent muscle mass, just a shield of fat covering it up.
My goal is to drop down to 175 lbs and get some cardio. I'm planning on taking some MMA classes after and I want to be able to train without getting to tired too quickly.
