Sept. 20 EliteXC event in New Mexico canceled
An EliteXC event officially announced for Sept. 20 at University Arena ("The Pit") in Albuquerque, N.M. has been canceled.
The cancellation was first reported by EliteXC broadcaster Maura Ranallo on Thursday.
EliteXC, which planned to showcase New Mexico fighter Joey Villasenor in the night's main event, has yet to make an official announcement, and when contacted by MMAjunkie.com (UFC blog for UFC news, UFC rumors, fighter interviews and event previews/recaps | MMAjunkie.com) on Thursday evening, a public-relations representative could not immediately comment on the matter.
A number of fighters tentatively scheduled for the event could instead end up on EliteXC's Oct. 4 fight card, which airs on CBS.
Those bouts could include a first-ever EliteXC 140-pound title fight between Bao Quach vs. Wilson Reis and a women's bout of Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos vs. Yoko Takahashi.
MMAjunkie.com will have more on this story throughout the weekend.

They should get together Cage Rage, Elite Xc, and Strikeforce, maybe along with a few others, maybe Lindland's sportfight or that show they have in Kentucky, and just share their talent pool/venues. AKA all the fighters would fight one another but the orgs could still run their own shows. It could be like the NFL where all the teams are individual companies but they all play under the same banner for the same titles.
