Yeah, he went up in my book prior to the fight with Barnett, before that I thought he was scum, and although he did just brutally wreck one of my all-time favorites, I do enjoy watching him fight and I have to respect his ultimate goal of fighting for the coveted UFC HW title. WAR GILBERT!

I'm not sure I'm ready to jump on the war wagon for this guy though. He's done some pretty dumb ass shit in his time, I mean epic levels of dumbassery.

This is true, but he's shown a lot more class recently, hopefully the face dragging, ref punching guy we watched years ago is dead and gone. There is no room for that bullshit on the US MMA scene.

Gilbert is the fucking man. I dont give a fuck what anyone says or what this guy did in the past. Once you see him fight live, you understand what kind of a barbarian warrior spirit this guy has.

Hes not the same Gilbert who got subbed by Minowa 5 years ago either. For close to the last 2 years, The Hurricane has been living in Las Vegas training at Xtreme Couture and Wanderlei's new gym. Consistently sparring stand up and ground game with MMA's elite. Hes grown a lot as a fighter and as human being.

If this isnt one of the greatest displays of heart ever, I dont know what is. Gilbert lost, but he showed that hes one of the most badass warriors ever. If any of you have been low kicked properly, you know the pain. Smoker, that excludes you from responding or disrespecting Yvel or any other real fighter.

I think Yvel had a broken leg from this fight.

I'll give him this, in that interview, he came off really, really well. Friendly, respectful, joking around - like I said earlier, it looks like he finally got around to growing up.

I remember his fight with Ray. Sefo showed him no respect that night. I miss that Sefo.

Sefo was a fucking monster at one point. Glad I got to meet him and get a flick with him. I was bummed that I couldnt meet Yvel though. Hes one of my favorite fighters. I hope to meet that nigga at the next Affliction.
