Cameldog Exclusive: Interview With James Mega Punk Thompson
What are your thoughts on the latest season of TUF with team UK winning both divisions ?
I think its great for the uk mma scene shows what alot of people here have know all the time the uk has a lot of good fighter and gyms here.
I know James Wilks very well as trained with him in L A at Eric Paulson knew he done really well, but i thought the whole team was strong.
How popular is MMA becoming in the UK ?
Really popular has been for a long time now can only see the sport getting stronger here.
One of my favorite fights of yours is you versus don frye, an amazing fight what are your thoughts on that fight ?
It was the last ever Pride and i was fighting my favorite fighter, it doesn't get much better that, plus it was an exciting fight.
Your fight with Kimbo Slice was very controversial, did you think the fight should of been stopped when you had him on the ground delivering strikes ?
I think it could of been, but the ref gave Kimbo every chance to continue. Which is fine but just wonder why i wasn't given the same chance.
How bad did it hurt when he popped you in the ear ? what did mirgliotta say to you after the fight stopped ? what did you say to him ?
It was numb did n't feel anything afterward was a different story. I said wtf he didn't say anything or nothing i can remember.
What would you do differently if you had a rematch with kimbo ?
Id make sure i had a ref who knew how to ref, wouldn't change much really would tighten up my ground.
Mirgilotta was also the ref in I believe your teammate Al Turks fight against Cro cop, what were your thoughts on that fight ?
Yeah he said he didn't see the eye poke and it was on his wrong side, but if you look at the replays he was looking right at it. Still say he miss it, what about the reaction of Mus was obvious he'd been poke in the eye. But even say he missed that, why when a guy grabbing his eye not covering up would you let him keep taking shots weather you though it was a poke or a punch. The guys a joke and should stay away from anything to do with mma.
You had a very interesting fight in Canada under the strike box promotion,I haven't seen the fight but ive heard things about..tell me what happened and did you think a full blown riot was going to occur ?
Interestingone word for it, i was told the rules agree the rules and ready to fight by them rules(which were no gnp or ju jit su on the ground or feet). Just before the fight get told by the ref that it was full mma rules and not the original rules i though, which was hard to understand. So got out to the fight and as i pick the guy up form a single leg he trys to put a guillotine on me which isn't in the rules .So than i think fk this and start fighting mma rules . The crowd didn't get what was going on as they were told it was strikebox rules and hear i m in side control dropping elbows and the ref letting it happen. Hence the riot.There was a lot of things what weren't right coming up to the fight Bosse was manged by the promoter and when the i found out the rule change last minute than he went for a guillotine i though no way i'm being Kimbo again. The promoter was a sleazy idiot who though he was clever than he was. Would like to fight Bosse again been close a few time to sorting it out. But he changed his mind.
Are you fighting again anytime soon ?
Will be fighting in Augest not 100% sure were.

my favorite part is about the strike box fight...a fucking riot occured with beer bottles an chairs being thrown in the ring and yves lavigne called it a no contest
