Default Mike Tyson

Showing appreciation to the most brutal fighter in combat sports history. Had the potential and all the tools to be the greatest. But self destructed mentally. People said he had Ali's speed and Rocky's power.

I was born in 1987, during Tyson's prime and my Dad named me Tyson. I asked him why? He said he named me after Mike Tyson. So since then, Mike has been my fav boxer along with Roy jones JR. SHOW YOUR RESPECTS TO IRON MIKE!

I personally think he would have beat Ali. The pre-prison Tyson beats pre-draft Ali and pos-prison Tyson beat post-prison Ali. Why? Because Tyson's style was made specifically for jab-based attackers which Ali was.

Ali's reign was when people wore suits to ride on a train, when boxing was not to far from its golden age and has a multi-Academy Award nominated film about his life. Tyson's reign was when there was a crack epidemic and when pro-wrestling was more popular than boxing. That's what people think of when discussing "the greatest".

LMAO , theres no way youd be able to post this at sherdog without being ripped by lennox's fan girls. you cant have an opinion against theirs.

ironically thats reason i never post in there boxing anymore and blasted them when i found this spot .

Mike Tyson (during the D'amato era) is my favorite fighter in history. the way he dispatched opponents was incredible. he was hitting guys leaving there body stiff to where they had to fall like trees . you dont see that often these days . it was also great to see the KO's in which bodies would just crumple straight down.

i still think his speed and defence is underrated . (while Cus was still alive)

1- tyson
2- Pacquiao
3- Julio Ceaser Chavez sr./Felix trinidad

i like the killers .

give me a fucking break, Ali would have been way too fast for Tyson, not to mention Ali was the king of following a gameplan before anyone else could do it, i'm a fan of Tyson but Ali would have smoked his pole all night

my favorites

1. Ali
2. Roy Jones
3.Sugar Ray Robinson
4. Raging Bull
5. Tyson

ALI way too fast for Tyson? LOL, I think Tyson is faster than ALI. many say they are around equal. But saying ALI is "WAY" to fast for Tyson is a little too much.

Tyson has the best combination of speed+power+defensive boxing out of any HW ever. Had all the potential, but needed somone like Cus to keep him composed. He was too "Street".

Foreman would have been a very hard matchup I think. Frazier would have got smashed, ALI would have probably lost to Tyson IMO.

give me a break, how can you say fuck cassius clay? honestley, he's the reason boxing is what it is, he's to this day the most recognizible face in the world, to quick for Ali he had the fastest hands for a HW ever, Foreman was the original Mike Tyson, too big and powerful for everyone, we all saw how that went, and please try and tell me Tyson ever used precision, speed, and intelligence like this

hahaha you show me a clip of him dancing around like a tard throwing weak ass punches against a can....whoop de fucking do and if he's the reason 'boxing is what it is' doesn't that sound pretty sad to you? and believe it or not boxing was around for hundreds of years before your boy Cassius came along....Rocky Marciano would've fucked him up, so on that note FUCK Cassius Clay!

it's really pathetic that you say that, Cassius Clay is the most important person of his generation on more level than one, doesn't the fact that he is the most regocnizable person IN THE WORLD to this day mean anything to you, he beat more quality opponents than Tyson did in his day(Brian London was not a can), Rocky Marciano did not beat the same level of opponents that Ali did, it's pathetic you give the man no credit at all, it really is because he was the original one to do all the shit we laugh at today, show boating, talking shit, RopeaDope, he was GROUNDBREAKING before anyone was groundbreaking in a sport that hadn't had a dominant champion like him in sometime

Foreman wasnt defensively as technical as Tyson, nor as fast. Tyson would have hurt Ali bad.

Tyson is the up there with ALI in speed. Look at this shit.

yeah and what the fuck did it get him, he was too cocky for his own good, as soon as his one trainer wasn't fucking training him anymore his heart went right out the fucking door, Ali had heart like none another and was known for training himself for more than one fight, you guys are ridiculous, Tyson was a monster, don't get be wrong, but Ali was taller, FASTER, and smarter than Tyson ever was in his career

Now you are bringing up heart. Getting all defensive. We are talking about SPEED. Tyson was as fast as Ali in his PRIME IMO.
